From the moment you enter the Platinum Lounge, you will experience our distinct difference from the typical beauty salon. Unlike most salons where stylists “rent” chairs, we work together as a team to fulfill your beauty dreams. At the Platinum Lounge, every client is a “Lounge Client”. The energy of the salon is a hybrid of fun, friendly hospitality fused with a high degree of professionalism, creativity, and precision in our work.
Leslie Vasquez opened the Platinum Lounge in 1999 in a small shop in Capitola to create a positive and relaxing environment for her growing clientele. The salon grew quickly with clients flocking here for hair extensions and color expertise. In 2004, the salon outgrew its Capitola location and moved to a much larger space with beautiful high ceilings, close freeway access, and plenty of free parking in Santa Cruz. Over the years, the salon has added new services, such as makeup, hair removal, and hair smoothing treatments.
The benefits of our team system is that you can always request an appointment with whichever stylist you want and also have the freedom to try different stylists—guilt -free within the salon. You’ll always have a fresh perspective… and you’ll always receive the utmost in service and attention. Meeting your salon service needs and busy schedule is our top priority.
The salon owes much of its success to its extensive mentoring and training program. To ensure consistent service quality and technical skill, all Platinum Lounge personnel are required to complete our in-salon skill certification program. This means you can always have confidence and peace of mind knowing that you are in the talented hands of a skill-certified team member.

The Platinum Lounge is a team-service hair salon. This means that the skills of our entire salon are available to you. We don’t keep you on a waiting list. Meeting your salon service needs and busy schedule is our top priority.

Your patronage is thanks enough for us. Under our team structure, more than one person may be attending to your service. Therefore, if you decide to leave a tip, we have established a “Team Tipping Policy” in which you just tip once at checkout.
Points & Rewards Program
Our rewards program is designed to benefit our loyal clients for their continued support. With every service and retail product purchased, you will be rewarded with points that can be redeemed towards services and retail products at our salon. Plus, we also reward you with points for referring us new clients. How fun!
Point Value: 1,000 points equals $1. Points can be used towards services and retail but cannot be redeemed in cash.
Referral Reward: If you love our service, please tell a friend! Receive 10,000 points when you refer a friend and they let us know they were referred by you.
Pre-Booking Reward: Pre-Book your next service at time of ring-up and receive 1,000 points.
Retail Reward: Receive 7 times the retail price in points for every retail item you purchase.
Service Reward: Receive 5 times the service price in points.
Points for Gift Certificate Purchase: Receive 10 times the value of your gift certificate purchase.
To redeem points, just ask the person checking you out that you would like to apply your points to your checkout. You can also let someone else use your points!
APPOINTMENTS: Hair and Beauty services are by appointment only.
CONFIRMATIONS: We will give you a confirmation call one to two days before your appointment, so please make sure that we have your current contact information.
SPECIAL APPOINTMENTS: If your schedule or special event is not during our regular hours of operation, we would love to accommodate you. Just ask! A special fee may apply.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Please help us to service all of our clients efficiently. If you find it necessary to cancel you appointment, please give us a 48 hour notice so that we may offer that time to other clients. Failure to Comply with the 48 hour cancellation policy may result in a partial of full forfeiture of any deposit.
PAYMENT: We accept CASH, Visa, MasterCard credit cards and debit cards bearing the Visa/MasterCard logo. Sorry, but we do not accept CHECKS.
